The Science Behind Reframing
Our thoughts shape our reality.
When we repeatedly think a limiting thought “I’m not good enough,” “I always mess up,” “I can’t do this” our brain treats it like fact. This can trigger the brain’s threat response, increase cortisol, and narrow our ability to see possibilities.
Reframing is the practice of consciously shifting perspective. Based in cognitive behavioural science and positive psychology, reframing activates the brain’s neuroplasticity, allowing us to challenge old patterns and create new ones. This small act can reduce anxiety, unlock creativity, and increase resilience.
When you name the story, you can choose to rewrite it. And like a glass of water, it’s not just about whether the glass is half full or half empty, it’s about realising you are the one holding the jug.
